THE FATA MORGANA.
I
walked with my thoughts on the beach, skipping stones in the sea
I was
mulling over some stuff that seemed important to me
About
who you are, who you think that you are and who people want you to be
Put a
man in a big enough cage and he`ll imagine he`s free...
This
happened to me.
A city
rose up from the deep, a city of light
With
emerald towers and spires, a beautiful sight
A beach
girl walked over to me face lit with delight
`It`s a
fata morgana`, she said, `A trick of the light`...
I said,
`Is that right ?`
I
wanted to keep it in colours that would not fade away
To pull
it again from my heart on some colder day
I
strained both my eyes in the light and studied the scene
I
studied the curves of her face, this girl is my dream...
You
know what I mean.
We
stood there so near to the touch our hearts beat as one
Perfection
of beauty itself stood infront of the sun
Her
hair it was blond her skin tanned, her eyes they were blue
But as
we stood there and talked on the sand my thoughts turned to you...
As they
often do.
So
after an hour or two when the tide wanders in
Then it
seemed as if something new was about to begin
By the
time we`d got back to her place well the darkness had neared
And
when I looked into her face it was yours that appeared...
Yes
just as I feared.
For I`d
wanted to keep you in colours that would not fade away
To pull
you again from my heart on these colder days
For you
were a vision to me that still seems so strong
And we
were an instant in time, but time keeps movin` on...
I know
now you`re gone.
