Hard decisions never come easy

No looking back is hard to take

In a lonely night when the bottle’s done

Trying to figure out my one mistake.

Still I try to figure out my one mistake.

I’ve asked myself too often what the purpose really is

My life is slipping away and I’m giving it a push

I can only come to morning through the shadows

I’ve said a prayer and I’ve said a curse

I’ve tried every cure there is to take

I’ve shook guilt and fear of the lonely night
