I SALUTE YOU.

He used to laugh he used to cry

He used to feel the tide of day

But in a war some people die

And there’s some who’re left to stay.

He carries hurt it’s carried deep

But most he carries is the guilt

And late at night he’ll never sleep

He dreams of comrades all being killed.

I salute you

And condemn the act of war

I salute you

What the hell is all the pain for?

Some say the price has to be paid

But the buyer ain’t who’ll pay

And I am one who is afraid

That the generals will have their day.

It’s battles won it’s battles lost

It’s battles every single night

And it is those that pay the most

That must daily wage the fight.
