AS THE WORLD GOES ON.

Sometimes I touch the memory

This little boy at a window

Parents can hurt their children

A wish at the end of a rainbow.

Mmh – turning back to see the pain

Smiling at me and it’s always the same

Mmh – someone stops me in the street

I’m standing and I stare at my feet.

As the world goes on

Oh so many agonies

As the world goes on

Oh so many agonies.

Time hasn’t dulled the sharpness

It’s still so clear I can touch it

Standing inside the darkness

The last thing I want is to touch it.

Mum would say mind your place boy

Dad would demand I stop showing off

Now my place is the shadows

And I act as though it’s sweetness and love.
