IN THE TWILIGHT YEARS.

It’s the twilight years

Sitting here and I’m thirty-eight

As my mind looks back

I can see every fool mistake…

Money was part of my ruin

I don’t know what the hell I was doing.

In the twilight years

How much love did I turn away

Young and free in life

Every choice I would choose to stray…

Women were part of my ruin

The time I stayed with one simply flew in.

Once more time

I’ve done it again

One more time

It’s always the same.

And as the door swings shut

All I’m ever left with is the if and but.

It’s the twilight years

You can dance on my grave as well

I’ve invented fears

That are one more excuse for hell…

Money and women have took me

Or maybe it’s all I was meant to be.
