THE HIGH LIFE.

Maybe if we’d known her better

She’d still be alive

But she kept herself too much to herself

Selling clothes in every size.

She was an actress they said

She was so different with the life she led.

She lived the high life

She lived it on the edge

She took the chance and lost

And paid the ultimate cost.

My shop faces into hers

And this night this man came to call

My wife had been at the window

And she saw it all.

Her light stayed on all night and all next day

And that next evening I found her head blown away!

You never know what round the corner

And that’s as it is

Who’d have known it who’d have guessed it

Who would end like this.

She was an actress so they said

She was so different with the life she led.
