I SALUTE YOU.

He used to laugh he used to cry

He used to feel the tide of day

But in a war some people die

Whilst some are left to stay.

He carries hurt it’s carried deep

But the burden is heavy guilt

And late at night he’ll never sleep

His comrades are being killed.

I salute you

And condemn the act of war

I salute you

But what were you fighting for?

I salute you

And forgive the fact you live

I salute you

Cause you gave all you could give.

Some say the price has to be paid

But the buyer ain’t who must pay

You can see your comrades dead

But the generals will have their day.

It’s battles won it’s battles lost

It’s battles every single night

And it is those that pay the most

That daily wage the fight.
