SHADE.

Maybe if we’d known her better

She’d still be alive

But she kept herself too much to herself

Selling clothes in every size.

She was an actress at least so they said

She was so different with the life she led.

She chose a path that led nowhere

She was a moonlight shadow

Falling to the shade.

She knew she didn’t have a prayer

She’d work until tomorrow

Her hopes were frayed…

Falling to the shade.

My shop it faces into hers

This man came to call

My wife was working at the shop window

She couldn’t help to see it all.

She was a hooker her bed was her work

She was so different she ran out of luck.

You never know what’s round the corner

And that’s as it is

Who would have known it and who’d have guessed it

How can you end up like this.

She was an actress at least so they said

She was so different with the life she led.
